Skukum Project
A High-Grade Gold District with Deep Roots and New Momentum
The Skukum Project is a cornerstone addition to Blue Jay Gold’s portfolio, anchoring our growth with a high-grade, infrastructure-rich asset in one of Canada’s most long-lived mining jurisdictions. Located just 55 km south of Whitehorse, Yukon, the 170 km² Skukum property blends a legacy of past production with modern exploration upside, offering a rare opportunity to advance a historically fertile project hosted in an underexplored district.
Originally brought into production in the 1980s, the Mt. Skukum Mine produced nearly 80,000 ounces of gold at an average recovered grade of 13 g/t Au. That early phase of mining left behind a strong infrastructure base including a 50-person camp, technical services workshop and office, and a network of access roads offering Blue Jay a significant head start toward reactivation of exploration.
Today, the project hosts NI 43-101 compliant high-grade gold-silver resources. The most recent mineral resource estimate (October 2022) outlines 418,000 oz AuEq in the Indicated category and 517,000 oz AuEq Inferred, grading 8.16 g/t and 5.33 g/t AuEq, respectively. The system remains wide open at depth and along strike.
Skukum’s geological setting is compelling because of the shear scale and diversity of enriched metals within mineralized corridors across the ~25 km wide project. Gold and silver mineralization is structurally controlled and exhibits a clear association with an Eocene age volcanic-magmatic centre that is interpreted to have formed a range of epithermal-related, high-grade gold and gold-silver systems.
Notably, example drilling from the Rainbow Zone at Skukum Creek returned intercepts such as 10.5 meters of 8.1 g/t Au and 175 g/t Ag, while Mt. Skukum has yielded bonanza grades near surface, including 7.7 meters at 15.7 g/t Au.
In addition to the known deposits, the broader land package holds numerous high-priority targets such as the Charleston and Raca zones, many of which remain untested by modern drilling.
Beyond grade and scale, Skukum stands apart due to its infrastructure leverage and road accessibility, allowing for more cost-effective exploration than typical remote grass-roots approaches. Blue Jay’s near-term focus will include targeted step-out drilling to grow and upgrade the resource base, and test new high-grade targets while concurrently addressing legacy reclamation, in-line with our commitment to modern, responsible exploration.
Inheriting both the promise of a proven gold system and the momentum of a revitalized exploration model, Skukum represents a rare blend of brownfield advantage and greenfield opportunity poised to deliver value across multiple time horizons.
